Press Release
E-scooters have only been allowed on German roads since June, and it is already hard to conceive of a traffic scene without them. These agile, electrically powered scooters are the perfect way to cover short distances quickly and without harming the environment. The new E-Scooter in the Mercedes-Benz EQ brand family was developed in cooperation with the scooter specialist micro, and is specifically designed for the first or last mile, making it the perfect companion for those wanting flexible mobility solutions. Co-branded with micro, the Mercedes star and the EQ logo appear on the handlebar stem as a trademark for Electric Intelligence.
Please Note: The market launch of the Mercedes-Benz E-Scooter is expected to be in early 2020.
That’s it, no other details have been revealed by the company on range, top speed, or any other specifications of the upcoming vehicle. It seems like the company is expected to sell them in Germany not confirmed yet for other markets.
A spokesperson of Daimler has confirmed that the company will sell the e-scooters directly to the consumers.
Daimler has released just two images of base of the e-scooter which has the Mercedes-Benz logo front and center but since the scooter is made under partnership with Micro we can expect a good set of specifications like its previous models (Suspension and Merlin) when the company reveals its specifications.
E-Scooter market has seen a major boost from last few years and big auto companies like BMW and Volkswagen are coming into the e-scooter market. Ford Motor Company bought electric scooter maker Spin last year.
