OnePlus have officially launched its first lineup of Smart TV called OnePlus TV on Thursday at the launch event held in New Delhi, India making its entry into the Smart TV market after its successful presence in the mobile market.
OnePlus TV has a 55-inch 4K QLED screen, it has a “sleek minimalist design” with a “nearly bezel-less screen.” It offers quantum dot color and supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ with not many details explained by the company.
OnePlus says that its TV provides the best color range from all its QLED rivals. It has a 50-watt, an eight-speaker setup (four-speaker in Q1) that the company says provides a “surreal surround sound experience” through Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus support.
The speaker setup is one-of-its-kind its slides down smoothly when in use and goes up in the back and hides when it’s not in use.
OnePlus TV is powered by Google’s Android TV with updates for three years it comes in with support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It comes in with a dedicated OnePlus Connect Phone app that gives you access to all the features of the TV on your smartphone.
It comes with OxygenPlay, Prime Video, YouTube, Google Play Movies, Hotstar, ErosNow, Zee5, Hungama, SonyLiv pre-installed.
It includes 4 HDMI 2.0 ports, WiFi (2.4/5 GHz), 1 USB2.0, 1 USB3.0, 1 USB Type-C, also includes one Ethernet port and it weighs 31 kg (gross), 24.2kg (with stand), and (22.2 kg without stand).
It consumes 165 watts of power.
Pricing and availability:
The OnePlus TV is currently exclusively available in India in two variants. The OnePlus TV Q1 is priced at Rs. 69,990 (around $1,000) and the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro with a motorized soundbar selling for INR 99,900 ($1,400).
