Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro that comes in as the company’s flagship tablets to stand as an options for buyers against Apple’s iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab series, and Huawei’s MatePad in China.
Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro has an 11-inch True Tone IPS LCD screen with a 1600 x 2560 pixels resolution display with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision support. It features thin bezels all around the screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio making it comfortable for movie watching and an 83% screen-to-body ratio around the display.
It comes in power with the Snapdragon 870 5G chipset coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internak storage with no expandable memory support. It also offers support for keyboard and sytlus for smooth tablet experience.
It features a Dual-lens camera setup on the back with a 50MP primary sensor (5G model), a 13MP primary sensor (Wi-Fi model) and a 5MP (f/2.0) depth sensor with an LED flash that offers up to 4K video recording support. It also offers an 8MP (f/2.0) selfie camera placed in the bezels of the device for video calling and it also offers background blur feature for privacy.
It also offers front-facing quad speakers (two on top and two on the bottom) with Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo sound. On connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB-C 2.0 port while the 3.5mm headphone jack is missing on the device. It comes in with Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 running out-of-the-box that is redesigned for tablets and offers multiple screen support.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro starts at 2,499 yuan for the 6GB/128GB variant while the 256 GB model is priced at 2,799 yuan and the top 8GB/256 GB variant with 5G capabilities is priced at 3,499 yuan available in black and white color options in China.
