Apple Event 2020 was focused on two products mainly Apple Watch and the iPad as announced by Apple CEO Tim Cook at the start of the event and the company announced the new affordable Apple Watch SE alongside the new Apple Watch Series 6 at the event.
Apple Watch SE features:
Apple Watch SE is the most affordable Apple Watch for those who can’t or don’t want to purchase the expensive flagship model of the Apple Watch. Apple Watch offers major features of the Watch Series 6 excluding the new S6 chipset and Blood Oxygen sensor.
Apple Watch SE has the altimeter and upgraded compass, accelerometer and gyroscope as well as the fall detection and emergency SOS feature of the watch series 6.
It has the same size as the watch series 6 and is 30% larger than the Apple watch series 3 that is still available for sales and runs on watchOS 7 offering major features like sleep and VO2Max tracking and automatic handwashing detection.
It comes in powered with the S5 chipset that’s still powerful enough to perform similar to the Apple Watch Series 5 however it also does not include the ECG feature introduced in the watch series 5.
Apple Watch SE starts at $279 (£269) for educators and the retail price of cellular + GPS model starts at $329 in the United States.
