Mozilla’s VPN service is now officially here after a short period of testing with some users. Initially, the new service has just been launched in six countries – US, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Mozilla VPN (formerly known as the Firefox Private Network) is available for $4.99 per month and offers two main advantages than other VPN services available.
First, the service offers considerably faster browsing experience using highly optimized code and second the company says it collects only absolutely necessary user data to keep the service running and the data it collects neither stored in logs nor the company sells the data.
Mozilla VPN uses the WireGuard® protocol that encrypts users’ network traffic and protects all private information of the users.
Currently, the app is available on Android, iOS, and Windows while the service for Mac and Linux will be available soon.
The company is also developing a built-in VPN service for Mozilla Firefox browsers that will be available for $2.99 per month for unlimited browsing.
