Artificial Intelligence has significantly improved in recent years, and its ability to generate the written words has also upgraded with scanning of huge datasets of text, machine learning software is able to produce satisfying samples of various things like stories and song lyrics.
The same method has been applied to a new program for coders called “Deep TabNine“, an AI-powered coding auto-completer which user can installed in the editor of their choice as an add-on. After installing it will suggest how to continue each line, offering small slabs at a time.
Think of it as Gmail Smart Compose feature for Coders
Deep TabNine is created by Jacob Jackson, the computer science undergraduate at the University of Waterloo. He says that this kind of software is not new but machine learning has improved what it can offer.
Jackson started working on the original version of the software, TabNine in February 2018 and launched it later in November. But earlier in July this year he released the updated version of the software with the integration of deep learning text-generation algorithm called GPT-2, which was designed by the research lab OpenAI, to improve the abilities of the software.

The update has seriously impressed coders, who have called it “amazing,” “insane,” and “absolutely mind-blowing” on Twitter.
Deep TabNine is trained on 2 million files from GitHub, it finds patterns in this data and uses them to suggest what’s likely to appear next in any given line of code, whether that’s a variable name or a function.
Deep TabNine offers support for 22 languages which is more than any other software list of languages mentioned below.
Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, C, PHP, Go, C#, Ruby, Objective-C, Rust, Swift, TypeScript, Haskell, OCaml, Scala, Kotlin, Perl, SQL, HTML, CSS, and Bash.
Currently, TabNine is available in two licenses and is priced at $49 (Personal License) for Personal use and $99 (Business License) for commercial use. TabNine offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
On the website, Jackson justifies the price like “TabNine will save you at least 1 second per minute. If you value your time above $1.40/hour, it will pay for itself in less than a year.”
