YouTube Music, YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium have officially made their entry in India. The long-awaited service of YouTube Music which allows the users to listen to YouTube with their phone screen off.
A Nielsen report claims that YouTube is used by India at a huge level and it also proves that YouTube is the most used streaming service for music other than the usual music streaming services. T-Series, India based YouTube channel that is currently leading against YouTuber PewDiePie as the most subscribed YouTube channel.
The result of low-cost smartphones and low-cost internet services leads to a larger number of streaming services being used.
YouTube Music has to battle against major streaming platforms in India such as Gaana, Jio Saavn, Amazon Music, Apple Music and recently launched Spotify. The YouTube Music will be an ad-supported service for free, while the YouTube Music Premium will cost users 99 rupees per month ($1.42).
YouTube Premium which will feature the facility to play videos in the background while running other apps, offline downloads, access to YouTube Originals, and YouTube Music Premium bundled in will cost at 129 rupees per month ($1.85). The current price is the cheapest of all in the current market to get a little bit of edge to YouTube service.
New Samsung Galaxy S10 users will get four months subscription of the YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium or Google Play Music.
