Google’s parent company Alphabet in its fourth quarter earnings reveals that YouTube earned nearly $5 billion in last three months and $15 billion last year on an annual basis, that is 10% of all revenue of the company. This is the first-time Google has revealed the earnings from YouTube since the company bought the platform in 2006 for $1.65 billion.
This is the first earning report came in after Sundar Pichai took over as the CEO of Alphabet Google’s parent company after co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin stepped back from day-to-day duties at the company.
The report reveals that Alphabet made $46 billion in the quarter that ended on December 31st, 2019 recorded a 17% growth over 2018.
About $10.7 billion of the revenue is the profit, Google Search still remains the highest revenue maker for the company with $27.2 billion for the quarter and Google Cloud service made $2.6 billion for the same time-period.
On annual service Google Search generated $98.1 billion in 2019 recorded 15 percent increase over 2018. YouTube raised $15.5 billion with a 36.5 percent jump over 2018.
