The English version of Wikipedia, the World’s largest online encyclopedia now has more than 6 million articles published on the website, some available figures say that the website averages about 255 million pageviews a day.
Wikimedia the non-profit organization that runs Wikipedia in multiple languages including English announced today. In 2015, Wikipedia (English) reached 5 million articles, the German version has about 2.3 million articles and the French version of Wikipedia has about 2.1 million articles published.

The 6 millionth article is about Maria Elise Turner Lauder, a 19th-century Canadian school teacher, travel writer, and fiction writer. The article was published by Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight, a longtime editor of Wikipedia.
Founded 19 years ago by Jimmy Wales with the goal was to provide “free access to the sum of all human knowledge.” and according to an estimate the sum of all human knowledge would require 104 million articles and about 20 years to complete it.
