Social Media giant Twitter has announced a pair of new features today, that will allow users to charge their follows for access to additional content and the ability to create and join groups based around specific interests.
The new upcoming features brings notable changes to the Twitter and are said to be similar to features that are popular and successful on other social media platforms around the world.
The first features is called Super Follows that will Twitter users to charge their followers for additional content that could be bonus tweets, access to a community group, subscription to a newsletter, or a badge indicating your support.
In a mockup screenshot, the company displayed an example where a user charges $4.99 per month for its subscriber to receive a number of perks.
Twitter have also announced a new feature called Communities that appears to be similar to Facebook Groups. People can create and join groups as per their interest such as animals, nature or space. The company says this feature will allow users to see more tweets as per their interests.
Twitter has not announced when these services will be available but its is notable that these new features will be available soon as they were listed at the “What’s Next” for its platform.
