Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released on December 20th and the company has tied up with many companies and new products could be released with the movie branding but Coca-Cola has created innovative bottles that feature main characters Rey and Kylo Ren of the movie with lightsabers that glow up every time you touch the labels.
These bottles use organic light-emitting diodes (OLED), the same technology that is used in the display on your smartphone or high-end TV and also inspired the K-pop song titled AMOLED.
This technology is created by a Berlin-based startup called Inuru and this special edition Coca-Cola bottles include the company’s smart labels. These labels feature a built-in printed battery and the diodes needed to light up something when you touch you complete a circuit, which in turn sends an electrical current to the diodes.
The company says that these labels are “eco-friendly” because they are manufactured without the use of rare-earth metals and the equipped battery sustains a minimum of 500 activations (it will light up minimum 500 times).
If you want to grab this special edition Coca-Cola bottles you need to plan a trip to Singapore as the company plans to release 8,000 bottles as part of a “Galactic Hunt” promotion which will run from December 6th to 22nd in Singapore.
Other than the promotion of the company, it is believable that this new technology can find it’s the way in the future.
