Tesla has announced the $35,000 cheapest version of the much awaited Model 3 which was announced three years ago. The company says that they are making multiple versions of the “Standard Range” Model 3 which can run upto 220 miles (354 kilometers) in a single charge. The previously cheapest Model 3 costs at $42,900 after the reduction in price in February.
The new Standard Range Model 3 has multiple version as its base model will cost at $35,000 has a range of 220 miles (354 kilometers) offering a top speed of 130mph (210 kmph) and can go from 0 to 60mph in 5.6 seconds.
The second version called the “Standard Range Plus” will cost at $37,000 has a range of 240 miles (386 kilometers) offering a top speed of 140mph (225 kmph) and can go from 0 to 60mph in 5.3 seconds and some premium features as per Tesla.
The new Standard Range Model 3 comes with an all-glass roof which wasn’t the part of the early announcement of the car and the car will have manual seats not power seats. The Standard Range will also come in black and other colors if the customer asks for will be added to the cost.
As per the company CEO Elen Musk the new Standard Range Model 3 will be available in Europe and China in “3-6 months”. “From the beginning, this has been the goal,” Musk added and said “It’s an incredible car”.
The company says that the car is available to order online and that will be the only way of ordering the Tesla cars as the company is shifting its all sales worldwide to online only so you don’t have to visit the company store to book a car for yourself. The company says that this move will help company cut down 6% of the current price of the car.
This means that the company is closing its multiple stores and will target to open stores in high-traffic locations and a large number of employees will be laid off as the company is focusing on providing the services and expanding service centers.
Tesla in a blog says that it is now allowing buyers to return the car for a full refund within 7 days or 1,000 miles.
