Food Delivery service Swiggy has started its service of delivering Groceries in more than 125 cities in India. The company says that it has tied up with various brands of the country like Hindustan Unilever Limited, Godrej, Dabur, P&G, Marico, Cipla, Vishal Mega Mart, and Adani Wilmers to deliver essentials items to its customers.
Swiggy says it will deliver the order within two hours of completing the order.
In the new ‘Grocery’ Tab of the app, users can check for available grocery stores nearby and order for essentials items as per their needs. Swiggy also offers a ‘No Contact’ delivery option for Prepaid orders.
The company started this service last week in tier-1 and tier-2 cities of the country but the company has made it official now. We have noticed that the new service can only be avail on the Swiggy app and mobile website users are still not able to access the service.
This service will be really helpful in restricting the long queues on the grocery and departmental stores while keeping people inside and following the principles of social distancing since the country is still under the 21 days of lockdown announced by PM Narendra Modi.
Swiggy has also revamped its ‘Swiggy Go’ service to ‘Swiggy Genie‘ in more than 15 cities. Swiggy Genie appears to offer a similar service like Dunzo of pick up and drop of items from anywhere within the city.
It’s notable that Swiggy is not the only company that is offering Grocery deliveries, Zomato, Dominos and other companies are also offering the similar service.
