Facebook didn’t have a pleasant 2018 with the shadow of Cambridge Analytica and other data breach issues wander around the company over the year, which led to hatred for the Founder of the company Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook spent a big amount of money on the security of Zuckerberg and his family.
Zuckerberg who takes just $1 as his annual salary and does not earn an annual bonus, but he receives millions in compensation majorly for his security. In a new document published by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) the company revealed that Zuckerberg earned more than $22 million in “other compensation” in 2018, a hike from more than $9 million in 2017.
About $2.6 million is compensation for Zuckerberg’s personal travel on a private jet, but almost $20 million of that amount is associated to Zuckerberg’s personal security costs.
He was granted $9,956,847 in pre-tax income for security related to his personal travel and residential protection. The company also granted him another pre-tax allowance of $10 million to cover “additional costs” related to his and his family’s personal security.
