Cardi B kicked off the BET Awards 2019 with an amazing performance and ended the night with picking up the Album of the Year in the annual event held at the Microsoft Theater on June 23rd, 2019, in Los Angeles, California.
Cardi B won 2 out of her 7 nominations at the event, Beyoncé won the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Bruno Mars won the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.
The late Nipsey Hussle received a posthumous award for the best male hip-hop artist. His mother took the stage for an emotional recounting of the day he was shot.
