Disney-owned Marvel Studios is on some kind of streak, with Spiderman: Far From Home crossed the $1 billion mark on the box office and became the third Marvel Studios movie to do so in 2019 and the first Spiderman Movie of all-time as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Marvel and Sony have a complicated rights deal for the Spider Superhero, the money earned from the movie goes to Sony which marked the second movie for Sony to surpassed the $1 billion mark since 2012’s James Bond blockbuster Skyfall.
Spiderman: Far From Home is the third straight Marvel movie to earn $1 billion in this year following Avengers: Endgame in April and Captain Marvel in March.
Marvel Studios now has nine movies to earn more than $1 billion at the box office with Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Iron Man 3, and Captain America: Civil War.
The future seems bright for Marvel Studios with the announcement of Phase IV and the plans till 2021 including a long-awaited Black Widow and a new Thor movie underway.
