Samsung made major announcements at the Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event held at San Francisco, California. Every year Samsung announces the Galaxy S series phone in the first half of the year and this year marking the 10th year since first Galaxy S series phone launched. Samsung launched its long teased foldable Galaxy Smartphone “Galaxy Fold”, Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+, new and upgraded Galaxy Buds, new Galaxy Watch Active and new Galaxy Fit.
Galaxy Fold
Teased since last year fall, Samsung has finally unveiled its first foldable smartphone “Galaxy Fold”. When folded the new device measures at 4.6 inches and when fully opened it measures at 7.3 inch display tablet. In the tablet mode, the device can handle up to three windows at the same time for multitasking.
The device is setup with 12GB of RAM, 512GB of memory, and two batteries that combines to a 4,380mAh. The Galaxy Fold has six cameras three in the back, two selfie cams, and one in the cover. A fingerprint senor is in the side of the phone to unlock the phone in folded mode.
The Galaxy Fold comes in both LTE and Wi-Fi versions starting at $1,980, and it will be available from April 26th and will be available in four colors: black, silver, a neon-ish green / yellow, and blue.
Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+
Every year the new Galaxy S series phone comes with a significant specifications upgrade and the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ got a bunch of them. A new display called Dynamic AMOLED Display and with the HDR10+ certified to take more brighter photos. The notchless display has the camera lens laser-etched into the screen. The fingerprint sensor is also built into the display and its even smoother sensor to unlock the device and other functions.
The new galaxy S10 and S10+ offers a triple-camera on the back with a new ultra wide mode and a shot suggestion AI similar to the Pixel phones, some new camera effects such as live filters. The Galaxy S10e has a dual camera on the back.
S10+ has 10MP + 8MP dual front camera, whereas S10e and S10 offers a 10MP front camera. A new power sharing mode to charge the phone like the wireless Galaxy Buds using the Qi Technology.
The new S10e measures at 5.8 inches, S10 measures at 6.1 inches and the S10+ at 6.4 inches display. S10 will be available in 8GB RAM with 128GB/512GB Internal Storage, whereas S10+ will be available in 8GB RAM with 128GB Internal Storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB/1TB Internal Storage.
The S10e, S10 and S10+ will be available for preorders from February 21st at 12AM ET (midnight), starting at $750, $900 and $1,000 respectively. If you preorder by March 7th you’ll get a free pair of Galaxy Buds.
Wearables
The new Galaxy Buds will be available from March 8th for $130. Like the Apple AirPods, Buds charge wirelessly in their own carrying case and lasts upto six hours afer full charge. Samsung launched new wearable devices the Galaxy Watch Active and the Galaxy Fit, both of the new devices are water-resistant for swimming and can track your heartbeat and sleep like all other galaxy wearable devices. Galaxy Watch Active will be available from March 8th for $199, while the Galaxy Fit comes out on May 31st for $99.
