Sony has announced a new mid-range smartphone Xperia 8 in Japan with a design similar to Sony Xperia 10.
Xperia 8 has a 6-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and it features Corning Gorilla Glass 6 panel in the back and front. The front of the display also holds an 8MP (f/2.0) selfie camera.
Xperia 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 630 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card slot. It has a dual-lens camera setup of 12MP (f/1.8) and an 8MP (f/2.4) ultrawide angle camera in the back.
It has a fingerprint sensor on the right-side power button and Sony has also brought the Side Sense touch sensors from the Xperia 1 and 5. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack with LDAC support to enjoy high-resolution audio wirelessly.
It has a 2,760 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging, it is waterproof and dustproof with IP65/68 rating.
It will be exclusively available in Japan at a price of about JPY 54,000 ($505). It is available from late October in four colors white, black, orange, blue.
