LG Electronics has finally unveiled its much-anticipated LG Wing smartphone adding a new dual screen smartphone to its dual screen smartphone lineups that the company has been launching from a long time but this time the company has taken its boldest move every in the dual screen smartphones.
The first look of the phone is the combination of the LG Velvet and LG ThinQ series with a swivel design that appears to be like the company’s vintage VX9400 feature phone released in the late 2000s. LG Wing is the first smartphone from the company’s new “Explorer Project” branding, aimed at exploring ways to “breathe new life into what makes a smartphone.”
LG Wing features two OLED panels, the first is the 6.8-inch P-OLED (1080 x 2460 pixels) main screen without any bezels or notches as the company has placed a 32MP (f/1.9) pop-up selfie camera while the second 3.9-inch G-OLED (1080 x 1240 pixels) display panel is placed underneath the main display making it one of the most unique smartphone of 2020.



The most amazing feature of the device is that the main display can be rotated horizontally revealing the second screen in capital T-shape which the company calls ‘swivel mode’ and has added many functionalities for its operations in this mode like you can operate separate apps at same time on the device in each display or use the same app with more functionalities.
LG has added camera controls to the secondary screen when the device is in Swivel Mode allowing all screen for camera use and using the larger screen as a wide screen keyboard while messaging.
LG Wing also comes in with a ‘gimbal mode’ that allows the user to use the second display as a controller with customised joystick controls for adjusting the camera. It also offers dual video recording support allowing the user to capture video from both the front and rear camera of the device.
On the inside, LG Wing features a Snapdragon 765G chipset with Qualcomm’s integrated X52 modem for 5G support coupled with up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
LG Wing features a LG Velvet like triple-lens camera setup with a 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, a 13MP (f/1.9) ultra-wide-angle lens with 117-degree FOV and a dedicated 12MP ultra wide lens with 120-degree FOV for gimbal mode with up to 4K video recording support.
On conectivity it offers dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, a USB-C (3.1) port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It includes a 4,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging and wireless charging support.
LG Wing 5G is priced at Rs. 69,990 for the single 6GB and 128GB variant available in Aurora Gray or Illusion Sky color options.
