Chinese rugged smartphone maker Doogee has launched the Doogee S97 Pro adding a new smartphone to its product lineup that the company claims to be the world’s first rugged smartphone with a professional laser rangefinder.

Doogee S97 Pro is a rugged smartphone that comes in with a laser rangefinder placed on top of the phone that can detect distances of up to 40 meters including 8 measuring modes. The company claims that the phone can operate in extreme conditions and IP68 and IP69K immersion protection that makes it to drop proof up to 1.8m, water proof up to 1.5m for 35 minutes, and dust & sand proof.
Doogee S97 Pro has a 6.39-inch HD+ (720 x 1560 pixels) IPS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 88.7% screen-to-body ratio screen. It features a punch hole cutout on top left of the display that supports a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie camera with up to 1080p video calling support.
It comes in power with the Mediatek Helio G95 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 256GB using a dedicated microSD card slot. It features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication and other features.
It features a rectangular quad-lens camera setup on the back that includes a 48MP (f/1.7) primary sensor with PDAF, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP portrait sensor with a quad LED flash that offers up to 1080p video recording support.
It offers dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for connectivity.
