Apple released the new iOS 12.1.4 update to fix the security bug in the Group FaceTime call feature which was introduced three months ago with the iOS 12.1 update. The bug which allowed anyone to call a phone or Mac and listen in before the other person picked up.
Apple has now fixed the defect that let you add yourself to a FaceTime call before the recipient picked up, tricking FaceTime into thinking it was an active call. The bug was found by Grant Thompson, a 14-year-old high school student from Tucson, Arizona, discovered the flaw around two weeks ago while setting up a group chat with friends playing Fortnite. Apple has confirmed that it plans to compensate the Thompson family and provide an additional gift toward the teenager’s education, according to Reuters.
