Tencent owned PUBG Mobile is not only the most popular mobile game in the world with more than 100 million monthly active players. As per the report from The Financial Times the game collected more than $146 million (INR 1013 Crore) in revenue from last month.
The collection is not only from the purchases made in the game like Royal Pass, Subscriptions, and Inventory, etc., but also the revenue is generated from the game’s China-only rebrand, Game For Peace.

According to estimates from Chinese brokerage Great Wall Securities, PUBG Mobile generated $76 million (INR 527.8 Crore) in revenue last month while Game For Peace generated $70 million (INR 486 Crore).
This is a huge revenue generation after the rebranding of the game as “Game For Peace” which was restricted by the Chinese Govt. from Monetization and making the game with patriotic setting and less bloodshed. Instead of dying in a pool of blood when eliminated from the game, for example, players get up and wave goodbye.
The restrictions from Chinese Government tells the real difficulties game makers are facing in the country as the government cracks down on games or apps if they sees it as anti-social or corrupting.
The combined collection for the game has surpassed the highest-grossing mobile game which was $125 million for Tencent’s Honor of Kings.
