Every year the prize money for the e-sports competition is increasing rapidly and Epic Games, the makers of the much popular Battle Royale game Fortnite has gone big as it will be rewarding $100 million of cash in the upcoming competitive tournaments.
Last year, Epic Games made signals that it will be adding a $100 million prize pool for the next year. This year the company will be rewarding around $100 million to the players who will be participating in the first-ever Fortnite World Cup. Each of the 200 qualifying players will walk away with at least $50,000 and the winner will take home a whopping $3 million.
The first-ever Fortnite World Cup will be held on July 26-28 at the 23,000-seat Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, offering $30 million total in prizes. One hundred of the Solo players and top 50 Duo teams will be invited for the tournament.

Fortnite will be holding up weekly open online qualifiers, each worth $1 million from April 13 to June 16. Players who are eligible and who consistently place well will have a shot at being one of those top 200 players.
This announcement will help Fortnite to boost its presence in the Battle Royale gaming as other Battle Royale games are also expanding as several of the top Twitch streamers are switching to Apex Legends and have also participated in the first Apex Legends Twitch Rivals tournament.
