16-year-old Kyle ‘Bugha‘ Giersdorf (USA) won the Solo Finals of the first-ever Fortnite World Cup held at the Arther Ashe Stadium in New York on Sunday.
After six rounds of intense competition, Bugha took home the win with 59 points in a dominant fashion, $3 million win prize and a Fortnite World Cup Trophy.
“Words can’t even explain it right now, I’m just so happy,” Bugha said in a post-match interview. “Everything I’ve done, the grind, it’s all paid off.”
Bugha was so dominated in the finals that with winning just one game (Game 1) and finishing in the top 5 in all four games, he finished with almost double points with second-placed Harrison “Psalm” Chang’ had only 33 points, and third-placed ‘EpikWhale‘ had 32 points in the finals.
Along with the finals of the Fortnite World Cup, Epic Games teased the season 10 of the game called as “Season X” showing off an image of Dusty Depot: the first point of interest the developers destroyed when a meteor hit the map back in Season 4.
Nyhrox and Aqua won the duos championship held on Saturday and won the same prize money of $3 million. Airwalks and RL Grime won the ProAm finals and the prize money of $1 million.
