HBO confirms that Game of Thrones “Starbucks” Coffee Cup appearance was a mistake

Game of Thrones most recent episode “The Last of the Starks,” was really amusing but the most shocking appearance was made by a “Starbucks Coffee Cup” at the celebratory feast in Winterfell sitting in the company of all the metal goblets of wine.

In an interview to the WNYC Radio today, Bernie Caulfield, an executive producer on the show said that the Cup appearance was just a simple mistake “We’re sorry!” he also added jokingly that the “Westeros was the first place to actually, you know, have Starbucks.”

The situation is quite embarrassing for HBO but its all taken as humorous for everyone involved with the show.

There hasn’t been any official statement from HBO that the episode will be updated and the cup will be replaced by something else. However, the company released the statement for the offending cup appearance in the recent episode.

While the cameo of the cup wasn’t intended as an advertisement but Starbucks isn’t going to just take it as a mistake and has used this to plug in its Dragon Drink (not related to Game of Thrones) and it is expected that the sales of Dragon Drink will boost up now.
