Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

A rare first edition of the “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” book was sold for £68,812 (~INR 62.4 lacs) reported by Edinburgh News with a significant hike in the estimated price of £40,000 to £60,000 (INR ~36 lacs to ~54 lacs) on Wednesday.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was the first book of the Harry Potter series which was released in the 1998 and initial release sold to around 500 countries and has been sold over 120 million copies around the world.

The first edition of the book has a bunch of typos including one on its rear cover where “Philosopher’s” is misspelled as “Philospher’s,” and another one on page 53 of the book which features a duplicated “1 wand” on a list of equipment.

This rare copy was signed by Author of the book J.K Rowling in 2003 to raise its worth for a sale benefiting two charities so if you were thinking that your copy of First Edition will go for sale at this big value then you’re wrong.

A new Pokemon Go like Harry Potter game is under way to be released soon.
