Disney owned Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame has officially passed the $2 billion mark in just its second week of the release in theatres. The final movie of the 10 years long Marvel Cinematic Universe is now the second-highest grossing movie of all time behind James Cameron’s Avatar released in 2009.
The Avengers: EndGame is the fifth movie to join the $2 billion earning club with “Avatar” ($2.78 billion), “Titanic” ($2.187 billion), “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($2.06 billion), and “Avengers: Infinity War” ($2.04 billion).
The film has earned $620 million in the US, and a whopping $1.52 billion worldwide including $575 million from China. The movie earned a record-breaking $1.2 billion in the opening week around the world, fastest to $1 billion and fastest to $1.2 billion too.
It is notable that the movie earned the highest grossing in China on opening week and second-highest in India. It is expected that the movie could easily break the record of the highest grossing movie of all time and could be the first to reach $3 billion around the world.
