DJI has launched the new Osmo Pocket 2 successor to the Osmo Pocket launched earlier this year, the smallest handheld device of the company.
The new Osmo Pocket 2 features the same compact design as the previous model with the gimbal-mounted camera for image and video stabilization.
The new Osmo Pocket 2 now features a 64MP (f/1.7) image sensor that can shoot images at up to 64MP with 8X zoom in 64MP and 4X lossless zoom in 16MP mode with improved Autofocus and HDR support.
The new Pocket 2 can record videos in 4K resolution at 60fps which is saved at 100 Mbps for cleaner and less compressed images.
It also features improvements in the audio with four microphones to record stereo sound for videos. The software of the device automatically adjust the audio based on where the camera is pointing in the video and it also support audio zoom when zooming in the video.
The Osmo Pocket 2 comes is with multiple modes including pro mode, story mode, panorama, 8X slo-mo video recording at 1080p, timelapse, hyperlapse, and motionlapse. It also offers ActiveTrack 3.0 to track a subject and keep it in the frame.
The new Pocket 2 offers support for older accessories and several new accessories including a new sleek charging case, wireless microphone set, waterproof housing, a smaller control wheel, extension rod, wide-angle lens, wireless module, and smartphone support system.
The base of the device is removable which allows you to connect modular accessories like a base to attach the Micro Tripod, and a Do-It-All Handle with a tripod base, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, speaker, 3.5mm audio jack, and wireless microphone receiver.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 2 is priced at $349 and comes in with the Mini Control Stick and a tripod mound (1/4″) available for sale starting from today in the US on DJI’s official website and authorized retail stores.
The company is also offering a Creator Combo that includes the Mini Control Stick, tripod mount (1/4”), Wide-Angle Lens, Wireless Microphone + Windscreen, Do-It-All Handle, and Micro Tripod for $499.
