The electric-car maker Tesla has announced there latest compact SUV Model Y. Model Y is the fifth car in the lineup of Tesla which is due to be released in 2020.
“It has the functionality of an SUV, but it will ride like a sports car,” CEO of the company Elon Musk said. “So this thing will be really tight on corners.”
Tesla Model Y Specifications:
The Long-range and Performance version of the car travels up to 315 miles (~508 km) on a single charge and it will cost at $52,900 and the Performace version is priced at $54,690. (At launch it was announced to have a range of up to 300 miles)
The performance version of the car will be able to run from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds will cost at $60,900.
The interior of the vehicle will look alike the Model 3 with a 15-inch touchscreen over a vacant dashboard. The car will have a panoramic sunroof and 68 cubic feet (1,925 liters) of the baggage area.
It includes 12-way power-adjustable front and rear heated seats with three independently folding 2nd-row seats, LED fog lamps, tinted glass roof with ultraviolet and infrared protection
(Note: Above-mentioned prices are purchase prices with potential savings of $6,300)
Tesla will also provide an all-wheel-drive dual motor version which will cost at $51,000 and a standard cheaper version that can range around 230 miles (~370km) which will cost at $39,000 but it won’t be available till 2021.
The new Tesla Model Y just came after Tesla released the Model 3 cheaper version which costs at $35,000.
